The Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) has utilized her curriculum for professional development on STEM in music, and she has presented her research at national conferences in Nashville, Richmond, and Hartford. Her doctoral research seeks to integrate culturally responsive teaching, multicultural education, and project-based learning through instrument making.
Additionally, Anastasia is the artistic director of The Opera Dolls, a company she co-founded to make opera relevant, tangible, and accessible to younger generations through interactive toys. She is an active church musician, having served as a cantor and organist for churches throughout Connecticut and New York for the past 14 years. She currently serves as Director of Music Ministry at St. Columba Church in Brooklyn, NY, where she is the organist, cantor, and choirmaster. In addition to the liturgical calendar, she directs a series of sacred chamber concerts throughout the year.
Anastasia earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Connecticut, a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance, and an Advanced Certificate in Music Education from the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music. She extends her gratitude to Dr. DeCaprio for his lifelong friendship and the opportunity to collaborate on this concert.
