Of Darkness and Light
Join us for an exciting exploration of musical works with pianist Qing Jiang, the inaugural Irma Vallecillo Visiting Artist at the Arazzo Music Festival! This recital will be given in honor of pianist Irma Vallecillo’s artistic career and pedagogy—as she provides generations of musicians a strong connection to the tradition, but also inspires and encourages all to cultivate a unique vision in their musical paths.
Each composer on this program shares a similar compositional aesthetic: a search for a progressive and individual voice without extreme divergence from traditional musical roots. Works by Lili Boulanger, Brahms, Salina Fisher, William Grant Still, Amy Beach, and the Rachmaninoff Cello Sonata with Artistic Director, Samuel DeCaprio.
Arazzo is honored to partner with Duncaster Senior Living to present this concert!

Love, Loss, Exile
Join us for a riveting program of music for soprano, cello, and piano! This program centers around Juhi Bansal’s song cycle, Love, Loss, Exile, which features poetry written anonymously by women in Afghanistan in order to tell their own personal stories without fear of retribution. The program is complemented by other cycles that follow aspects of that theme, including works by Ravel, André Previn, Bartók, and Strauss. DeCaprio will be joined by fellow UConn alumnus and soprano Anastasia Rege and pianist Min Young Kang.
